The collaborative effort of dozens—faculty, administration, staff and students, alumni and members of the business community—and based on the shared values of all stakeholders, the Strategic Plan 2018 of the Richard H. Driehaus College of Business at DePaul will focus on “enhancing academic excellence and strengthening the college’s already strong ties to the business community,” according to Driehaus College of Business Dean Ray Whittington. “Through the implementation of this plan we wish to embrace every opportunity for improvement and innovation in teaching, research and service,” Whittington continued
The plan builds on well-established strengths of the college, characteristics of DePaul (and Ledger & Quill) for over a century, and has three clear goals: (1) to provide a high quality education and co-curricular experience for our students; (2) to deepen the college’s connection to the business community; and (3) to create a culture of collaboration and connectivity for our faculty.
“There are plenty of exciting ideas in the plan,” says School Director Kevin Stevens(MST ’86), “and many occasions for L&Q members and their firms to keep informed of and directly participate in some ventures. We’re proud to say that L&Q can serve as a model for one of the goals, that of deepening the college’s connection to the business community, and enhancing the networking and engagement opportunities for alumni and other members of the business community.”
