Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

Almost everyone has been touched by breast cancer in some way, so the Ledger & Quill Recent Alumni Group decided to make a difference by walking and raising money in our local American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event. The donations enable investment in groundbreaking breast cancer research as well as provide free information and services for those diagnosed with the disease. More than 3.1 million breast cancer survivors will celebrate another birthday this year!

The walk was held on a rainy Saturday on October 24. There was a nice turnout and the Recent Alumni Group plans on sponsoring more fundraising/philanthropic events.

Recent Alumni Fundraising Initiative

The Ledger & Quill Recent Alumni sub-committee has embarked upon a new initiative for the coming school year–to raise $5,000 for L&Q by the end of Fiscal Year 2016. This initiative will allow the recent alumni, as young professionals, to directly assist L&Q in funding the education of current students, as well as other efforts such as faculty development and student group support. Through this campaign, the recent alumni will be targeting individuals who have graduated within the last 10 years as way to increase alumni involvement in L&Q. A contribution of any amount, regardless of year of graduation, guarantees membership in the organization.

Thank you for your support of DePaul, Ledger & Quill, and the success of the accounting profession!

*Note: Donors may specify “Recent Alumni Giving Campaign” in the memo section of the donation page when making a donation on the Ledger & Quill website.
If a donation is made to the general Ledger& Quill fund, and a memo is not included, donations made by graduates from the past ten years will automatically be applied to the campaign.
